Be aware of meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia symptoms
Meningitis and meningococcal septicaemia can begin with symptoms that look very similar to common viral infections, such as flu or other seasonal viruses. This can make them easy to overlook in the early stages.
However, it’s important to stay alert. Seek urgent medical help immediately if you develop any of the following symptoms, especially if they appear suddenly, get worse quickly, or feel different from a usual viral illness:
