Ordering your prescription

The easiest way to order repeat prescriptions is using your NHS account (through the NHS website or in the NHS App).

This shows you all your repeat medicines and dosages and you can choose the ones you need.

You can also:

• fill out an online form to order via our website
• ask your local pharmacy to order on your behalf
• hand a paper form into the surgery

Repeat prescription requests can only be taken over the phone via our automated service for those patients who are unable to use online methods.  Call the surgery on 0191 4068111 and choose the appropriate option from the menu.

Collecting your Prescription

You can usually collect your prescription from the pharmacy 3 to 5 working days after you have ordered it.

You will need to nominate a pharmacy to collect your prescription from.

You can change your nominated pharmacy at any time:

• on the app where you order repeat prescriptions
• at the GP practice
• at any pharmacy that accepts repeat prescriptions

What to do with old medicines

Take it to the pharmacy you got it from. Do not put it in your household bin, flush it down the toilet, or bring it to the practice.
