We have trained our care navigator to ask certain questions to help make sure you receive the most appropriate medical care from the most appropriate health professional at the most appropriate time.

Visit for same day, urgent, minor injuries or illness when your GP practice is unavailable

Urgent Care or Walk-in Centre

• South Tyneside District Hospital’s Urgent Care Centre, in Harton Lane, South Shields, NE34 0PL, is open from 8am to 10pm each day.
• Sunderland Royal Hospital, Kayll Rd, Sunderland SR4 7TP, is open from 8am to 12pm each day.

Emergency department or call 999

Only for very serious or life threatening situations
