Are you interested in finding out more about the practice?

If the answer is YES, have you ever thought about joining Marsden Medical Group’s VPPG?

Marsden Medical Group’s VPPG is actively seeking patients to join our meetings.

We are keen to hear from people of all backgrounds, ages and gender, to attend our regular virtual meetings via Microsoft Teams.

The VPPG is run by volunteer patients, and practice staff to help strengthen the relationship between the practice and you, their patients

If this is something you may be interested in, please contact nencicb-styn.mmgvppg@nhs.net via email for an application form and return this by Monday 9th February. Please note applications may close sooner if we reach our maximum number of applicants. We look forward to hearing from you!

What is a Virtual Patient Participation Group?

This is a group that has been set up for patients who would like to be involved in a Patient Participation Group in a virtual format.  Virtual groups allow people to have a ‘light touch’ involvement whilst being kept informed.

Virtual Patient Participation Groups (VPPGs) work by building a relationship between the practice and its patients that breaks down barriers and shares information.

Meetings will be held via Microsoft Teams and emails circulated to members with any Practice updates.

Members must complete a sign-up form and sign the Confidentiality and Data Agreement form which explains how personal data will be used.

Contact details will be kept safely and securely and will only be used for this purpose.  Membership of the group will have no impact on your medical care, in any way. The information supplied to us will be used lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.

Purpose of the VPPG

The purpose of the Virtual Patient Participation Group is to establish a system of communication with registered patients in the Practice so that their views and concerns are fed back. We also aim for our patients and VPPG members to have a better understanding and knowledge of the Practice, its staff and its viewpoint.

Benefits of a PPG for patients:

  • Patients can cultivate a heightened sense of responsibility for their health and wellbeing.
  • Gain a deeper understanding of the Practice, its staff, and its procedures.
  • Develop a broader awareness of NHS policies.
  • Act as a conduit for overarching patient and practice communication
  • Contribute to the Practice’s performance in the National Patient Survey results and Friends and Family Test feedback.
  • Enable patients to have a say in the way services are delivered.
